Earlier this week, I was flown over to Sydney for the launch of Disney on Ice presents Frozen to interview show Ambassador Shelley Craft.
Shelley shared with me that as a child she loved Disney cartoons, and now loves watching Pocahontas, Mulan, Moana, Frozen and any Disney movie with a strong female role model with her own daughters.
I asked Shelley what it is about Disney that captures the hearts and imaginations of kids (and big kids!) all over the world – and we both agreed it’s the characters, costumes, music, humour and you always leave a Disney experience on a wonderful high.
I’ve been a long time fan of Disney – from Pollyanna, Song of the South, Mary Poppins and Cinderella as a child – to now watching Princess Diaries, Finding Nemo, Aladdin, Cinderella and Frozen with my own daughters.
Frozen is extra special for us as it’s the story of the bond and friendship between two sisters, and that you don’t need to be rescued by a man – true love can be found within a family.
We have a Disney channel on our sound system at home which my girls and I sing and dance to and love to play a game where we guess which movie the song is from.
Ava recently had a Princess Jasmine and Aladdin birthday party and Chloe is OBSESSED with Frozen – she even wears a blue glove around the house and is convinced she has magical powers.
She also asks for a ‘true loves kiss’ at bed time.
Oh the magic of childhood!
We are SO excited that Disney On Ice Presents Frozen is coming to Australia, and will be at Perth Arena from 2nd – 5th June 2017.
