Recently I’ve had such tired eyes with dark circles and fine lines. Yuk!
My usual concealer wasn’t working , and I bought an under eye cream that once I got it home, I didn’t love. (So frustrating!).
I desperately needed to find the very best products – ones that would work some under eye magic!
I reached out to the gorgeous Jodi from Goo Roo Beauty – who sent me a really fantastic list and I thought I’d share it on the blog for anyone else who is totally over their under eye bags / circles / lines too.
UNDER EYE CONCEALERS
Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser (I love the shade Medium) Inexpensive, easy to access, sponge tip for easy and fast application, smoothing texture, good coverage, handy for the handbag and doesn’t cake when built up. (I’ve been using this for the last few weeks and LOVE it!).
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye – Adore this one! Available from Sephora, comes in a tube and you only need the tiniest amount for excellent, hydrated coverage- huge, big holy grail thumbs up!
Laura Mercier High Coverage Under Eye Concealer – Only a tiny amount required and from a tube” type concealer. Available in David Jones in many shades, so you can test at at the counter.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – Available at Mecca in loads of shades, many people swear by this concealer for under the eyes.
With all of these concealers, I’ll apply, then tap right in with a warm finger (don’t swipe or rub). Then I’ll do makeup on the rest of my face for a couple minutes (powder, cheeks, bronzer, lippie) then go back in for another tap in with my ring finger. I find this extra tap stage eliminates any settling or cakiness and I’m good for the day and find they look great!
Whilst on the topic of under eyes, I can’t not mention the following;
Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Eye Cream: This is an amazing HYDRATING eye cream that sits beautifully under any undereye make up. I usually don’t notice any difference with eye creams, except for with this one- a true love for hydrated under eyes. (I’ve since bought this and love love love how beautifully make up sits over the top! Big thumbs up from me!).
Becca Under Eye Brightener: This is perfect to tap into under eye circles after Moisturiser and before concealer. Makes a huge difference to colour correct under even high coverage concealers, available from Sephora or many online stores. Again, have tried many brighteners and correctors over the years but there’s nothing as good as this product. Also very hydrating too.
Happy Beauty Shopping lovelies!

Oh my goodness, Amy! It’s like you were reading my mind with this blog post! My beautiful family and I have just moved to Melbourne from Perth and I don’t know if it’s the weather or just age ?… but I’ve noticed dark circles…YUK! I’ve always been scared of concealer, i think that’s because I’ve never been sure how to use it correctly ?. I’ll definitely give your top tips a try… especially the eyecream… REALLY need a GOOD eye cream and I really dislike spending a fortune only to get it home and not like it. Do you apply your concealer before or after foundation? Possibly a dumb question ? xxx
Congrats on your move lovely!!! You are lucky because you have Sephora in Melbs – yay! I apply my concealer after foundation and tap it in. Good luck lovely!! x x x
I have a tip that works for me..ive tried so many concealers..from cheap to expensive brands for the darkness under the eyes..but what works for me is a lighter foundation that is applied in the eye area before powder and after powder..just loosly powdered!
It lightens the area up with out being caky.
Thanks for this info Amy! I’ve been following your blog and Instagram for a while now and always find that you post really useful info. I’ve just had a baby (4 weeks ago) and lack of sleep is taking its toll on my face! I am now keen to try your recommendations ? xx

I am in love with NARS radiant concealer! It never creases on my dry skin. I also use it on all my clients and it covers dark circles perfectly. Thanks for the other recommendations I look forward to trying them all x
