I discovered green smoothies last year and have had one every morning (and some afternoons!) since.
They are SO quick, easy and delicious – AND such a great nutritional kick start to the day.
I love that you can play around with ingredients, adding super foods like spinach without even tasting it.
They fill me up and I have SO much more energy during the day since I started having them, and I’ve managed to drop a kilo or two as well. (YAY!).
My hubby and girls love them too.
Mornings my girls aren’t interested in having breakfast, they have a smoothie instead and if we’re in a rush, I pop them in take away cups for the girls to enjoy on the way to school.
I’d been using an everyday blender up until recently, then I invested in a Ninja Worktop Blender which has two very handy takeaway cups – so you can blend and go if it’s rush to get out the door.
My favourite recipe right now is:
1 x frozen banana (peel them before you pop them in the freezer!)
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 handful baby spinach
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Optional: Honey to sweeten
Blend and enjoy!!
