This week I had a lovely comment on my Facebook page saying I looked ‘relaxed and fresh’ (awwww – thank you!).
Over the last few years, I haven’t felt so relaxed and fresh. Sleep deprivation took a huge toll on my face. I developed lots of lines and dry, dull skin and aged about 5 years in just 1 or 2. Ugghhhh.
I would often joke to my hubby that I looked like Rod Stewart – an old, wrinkly rocker with crazy hair. (Sorry Rod!).
I needed to make changes if I wanted to delay ageing and focused on using beautifully nourishing and hydrating skincare- my favourite is Sodashi – and also had a couple of incredible peels at ABC Medispa – they make a huge difference.
The quickest trick to getting your glow on and looking ‘fresh’ is illuminator!
It’s almost magical. If you don’t have one, you must get one ASAP!
Sometimes also called strobing – it’s all about creating light on your face where the sunlight would normally hit it.
Think nose, cheeks, brow bone and the very top of your lips.
I also like to use it on the inside corner of my eyes to make them brighter.
If I’m going out – I use it on my shoulders and décolletage to make them glow.
Illuminators come in either a powder or liquid form.
I prefer powder as it’s quicker and easier to apply when you’re rushing out the door. A couple of gentle sweeps over your foundation and blush and you’re good to glow!
Here are a couple of other options:
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector $60 (Opal would be my pick)
Happy illuminating lovelies!
