The school holidays are well underway and there are so many things to see and do.
After a busy Easter, we had our first day at home yesterday, but by mid afternoon after playing lego, puzzles, reading books and cooking – my girls were starting to get a bit stir crazy, so I reached out to my Facebook friends and received loads of fab ideas.
Thank you SO much to everyone who left a suggestion.
Many shopping centres have fun school holiday activities, you just need to check the timing so you don’t disappoint your little ones. Floreat Forum has a cuddly animal farm from 11 – 2 (only until Sunday), Karrinyup Shopping Centre has Hoot and Hootabelle and Morley Galleria has Disney Princesses.
If your local shopping centre has fun school holiday activities, I’d love you to share the details in the comments section below!
As well as lots of at home ideas like baking delicious (and super easy) Rainbow Cookies and doing arts and crafts, here are some other fun out and about ideas.
Bathers Beach House – They have $10 kids meals which include a meal, drink and soft serve ice cream – plus the kids can run around on the beach directly in front of the restaurant! One of my favourite destinations with kids.
Bus ride or Train ride
IKEA – We love heading to IKEA, there’s always the ball pit for over 3’s and kids have a certain amount of freedom where they can walk around. We spend some time in the kids section which has great craft supplies, induing stamps and rolls of paper – and then we head for a little treat and juice afterwards. They usually have a Disney movie playing in the kids section of the restaurant. Perfect for rainy days!Landsdale Farm School
Perth City – Perth is our local neighbourhood and we love it. There’s so much to see and do. I tell my girls ‘We’re going on an adventure’ and off we go to explore. Some of our tops spots are the David Jones Food Hall for lunch, Jamies Italian, The Secret Garden behind St Georges Square and the water feature in Forrest Place but there are SO many new places to discover and experience.
Picnic at the Park or Beach
Perth State Library or your local library
I’d love you to share your favourite school holiday activities in the comments section below – anything to keep the kids busy and parents sane!
Happy school holidays everyone!
