Every Friday afternoon I pick Ava up from kindy and take her and Chloe to our local Grill’d. It’s become part of our family routine and we look forward to it all week.
The staff know our names, are super friendly and welcoming and even help me get a high chair for Chloe – thanks guys!
We’ve always loved how yummy and healthy the burgers at Grill’d are; made with the freshest ingredients and fresh to order. They’ve even introduced the new Low carb SuperBun which is gluten free (yay!) – made with all natural ingredients including almond meal, organic coconut cream, psyllium husk and free range eggs. Most of this range has less carbs than one hand sushi roll!
My girls love the Mini Me burger packs, Ava has an apple juice as a special treat and loves her little colouring in book and pencils that she gets with her pack.
Ava will take her tokens to the Local Matters jars and together we’ll choose which groups to support (usually one each, because how can we choose between them?). It’s a great way to teach her about giving back to her local community.
Then we’ll talk about our week. The best bits and the parts that weren’t so great. We talk about any problems we might have had and how we can figure out how to overcome them.
It’s a chance to check in with my girls and be really present, without the distraction of dinner prep and clean up. I often think that Grill’d has saved my sanity as a parent, especially during footy season when my hubby is away every weekend and I am a part time solo parent!
Friends and family will often join the girls and I at Grill’d, there’s a burger for everyone and I’m a big fan of the chicken and pomegranate salad – YUM! I also love that you can also enjoy a glass of wine or beer with your meal – it’s a great way to welcome in the weekend!
If you haven’t experienced Grill’d yet, you can check out your local restaurant here.
