What a fabulous, fun filled time we had at Flemington for Oaks Day, fashion watching, celebrity spotting and marquee hopping!
Oaks Day is ladies day so the approach is very soft, fresh and feminine. Trends spotted this year were lots of lace, pastels and florals. I originally had planned to wear a lace Lover dress but decided to do something a little different and wore a Yeojin Bae dress from Myer and teamed it with the most exquisite hand made leather floral crown by Aussie milliner Emma Reynolds. My shoes are by Nude from Style Tread and are the comfiest heels I’ve ever owned! I wore them all day and my feet didn’t hurt once. A few people have asked about my make up and I’ll be sharing a special occasion make up post very soon, the lipstick I wore yesterday was MAC Chatterbox (thank you my lovely Mrs Bouw!) which was very fitting as I was a total chatterbox yesterday.
It was so much fun to meet a few of my blogging idols including Jess from What Would Karl Do, Rozalia Russian and Bec Judd, all ladies were stunning and oh so lovely. It’s great meeting people you admire and finding they’re just as lovely in real life as you’d hoped they’d be. Everyone we met was in good form and happy to stop for a quick chat and a photo, all bar one Aussie glamazon who had one of her ‘people’ tell me she wasn’t having any more photos. Any guesses who it might have been?
Thanks so much to Lexus, Myer and Lavazza for hosting myself and my lady date Chevaun in the Bird Cage at Flemington yesterday, and well done to my handsome hubby who has done a fantastic job as host of presentations for the Spring Racing Carnival.
Until next year Flemington!
