Hello! I’m Elise Papamihail, Perth stylist/ fashion writer and mum to Chloé (3) and Olivia (14 months). Thanks to the lovely Amy Zempilas, I’m honoured to be back to share some of my STYLE ideas with you.
Everyone has their own ‘style’ or way of living that’s often an extension of their personality. I like to think of style as an instinct, a gut feeling you get when you see a fabulous piece of clothing or just knowing when you feel your best. It’s the fine details and inspiration that can be found in so many everyday moments.

I believe that living with style isn’t all about glitz and glamour. It’s how your inner self shines, a confidence and sense of independence from life’s valuable experiences.
In less confident moments, often having a positive mindset and seeing the beauty in everyday moments, will help to inspire your creativity.
We all know life is busy and evolves constantly. But it’s important not to forget about you. Reinventing your style to suit changing lifestyle needs will keep you feeling fresh.

FASHION. Obviously fashion plays a huge role in your style, and with the overwhelming options of designers, stores, boutiques and online stores to choose from, trying to find your niche can be confusing, which often leads to impulse buying. The answer? start with the basics… THE WISHLIST. Writing down a wishlist of items you need to create your style including your budget allocation, works wonders. Add ideas for trends. Having a wardrobe of both staple basics and of-the-moment trend pieces can help greatly when selecting outfits.
My Wishlist: Skirt $60 by Oasis-stores.com, top by Uniform Studios $210 and bag by Prism POA both @stylemepeachy, sunglasses $321 by Celine @matchesfashion.com and Rockstud heels $1,201 by Valentino @neimanmarcus.com
INSPIRATION FROM THE PAST. I adore the style from bygone eras such as the ‘art deco’ elegance of the 20’s to the chic sophistication of the 50’s, revolutionary mod squad 60’s and the glamour of the 70’s. Today, so many trends from past eras are being mixed and matched into edgy and eclectic everyday looks. So don’t be afraid to experiment!
TRENDING NOW AND BEYOND. This spring, there’s been a huge focus on white lace, black lace, black and white, denim on denim, crop top and midi skirts, jumpsuits, white shirts and pastels. But I’m looking ahead for summer and feeling asymmetrical maxi skirts paired with tees and tanks. There’s a major stripes vibe (vertical stripes, pyjama style). Bright coloured florals in full midi skirts, plus loving leather investment pieces in shorts and distressed denim cut offs with long robe jackets and flowing 70’s vibe maxi dresses. Statement shoes are beautiful for summer paired with basics. Minimalist block colours in hues of olive green, white, and nude work together well and for the very daring, bright pattern on pattern clashes are a stylish standout. And, the gorgeous off-the-shoulder blouses have made a big comeback, perfect for hiding squishy tummies and exposing beautiful necklines and shoulders.

BE YOUR OWN TRENDSETTER. Before major chain stores design their collections, trend hunters are hired to to do specific research. And where do the trend hunters go for their results? TO YOU! That’s right, trends are actually set by professionals who study everyday people at everyday events. So it’s never too late to become a trendsetter yourself, even with the kids in tow!

The thing about style is that at the end of the day, you have to be true to yourself and just OWN IT!
Happy styling everyone! Hope I’ve inspired your day!
