Sunshine, cocktails, delicious food and beautiful sunsets – I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a few days totally relaxing and recharging with some of my gorgeous girlfriends in beautiful Bali. The last time we’d all been away together was in the Greek Islands for our wedding five years ago, so it was very special for us to all be together again in tropical paradise; five years on with three weddings, one engagement and five children under our belts!
We managed to squeeze so much into our three days; sunset drinks at Ku De Ta and Woo Bar, lazy days at Potato Head, breakfast at La Lucciola and Sisterfields, lunch at The Junction, dinner at Motel Mexicola and Petitenget and massages at Amo Spa.
Most of all, I just loved spending time with my beautiful, clever and funny girlfriends, chatting and laughing and having way too much fun. I felt like I was in a a blissful haven, even enjoying slightly spiritual moments like sunset, when everyone would gather to watch the sun sink into the ocean in almost reverential silence. It was so beautiful and really gave me a chance to reflect and left me with an overwhelming feeling of gratitude – grateful for my amazing hubby, children, family, friends and a life where I have the opportunity to seek out stolen moments with friends in a beautiful place like Bali.
A very special thanks to our amazing friend Louise (above, far right), who organised the entire trip from flights, accommodation, transfers and restaurant reservations – and without whom this trip would never have happened. You are a superstar and we love you beautiful girl!
Same time next year girls?

So glad you were able to get away with your girlfriends. I have always tried to instill in my 3 daughters that no matter where you are in life it is SO important to keep your girlfriend contacts- they let you be just you, someone to unload on and who you can reciprocate the same. Just to be able to get out from the usual day to day and escape from life if only just for a little while.
It’s SO important to have great girlfriends in your life, and I’m all for quality over quantity! I love my friends and aspire to be more like them in some way. x x x
Really love your post! I have a 22 months old grand daughter and your tips are great! As far as Bali goes I am a veteran . I love it! My husband and I stay at The W now! We just love it! I actually had my birthday celebration inMay above the Woo bar with 32 of my friends from Australia! That was a fabulous party.
I also love the fab restaurants there as I am a total foodie, my favourite at the moment is Merah Putih, not far from the W.
Oh yum! I’ll add Merah Putih to my list of restaurants for my next trip. Thanks so much for stopping by. x x
Oh love this! Where abouts did you stay in Bali? Wanting to go in a month with the hubby!
We stayed at the Semara Resort and loved it – if you are looking at staying there, request a room near the quiet zone as some of the poolside rooms can be a bit noisy. x x
If you don’t mind the hour long drive, yoga Barn in Ubud is a must! Once your done there, the raw food cafe is calling and then off to the markets and if you’re game, the monkey Forrest!
Thanks Sarah, Yoga Barn sounds amazing! x x x

Oh I love Bali, we got engaged there, had our honeymoon there this year & I have just booked a mini break for myself & a girlfriend in October. There is something so magical about it. Looks like you had an amazing time. xx
Oh enjoy your mini break – it certainly sounds like Bali holds a very special place in your heart. x x x
I enjoyed a girls trip about a yr and a half ago (between having bub one and falling pregnant with bub two) and it was the most wonderfully enriching 2-3 days I’ve ever had abroad! We laughed harder then ever before and thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company cementing a bond between two gals who had been friends for ten yrs! Your insta pics and blog post truly does encompass they pure joy gals can have together when you take a break from all of life’s everyday pressures. Thanks for sharing your experience. Can’t wait to book my next girls trip and unwind!
What an awesome getaway with your gorgeous girls! Oh how I love girl time. So special and so good for recharging your soul. x
