We just returned from a fantastic five days in Melbourne with our girls. We managed to squeeze a little family getaway in between my hubby’s AFL work commitments and were also lucky enough to have my mum and dad (Grandma and Poppa) join us for a few days!
Every now and then I join my hubby on his work trip for a whirlwhind weekend and we’ll visit our favourite restaurants like Coda, Il Solito Posto, Chocolate Buddha and Pho & Co, but it was really fun to explore Melbourne as a family.
Top of our to do list was the newly opened Emporium Melbourne which joins onto both David Jones and Myer in the city and it was AMAZING. Not all the stores have opened yet – so I’m keen to head back when they have. First stop was Uniqlo for warm puffer jackets and vests for the cold Melbourne weather, then we wandered around each level, stopping at amazing food icons like The Tea Salon and Myer Kids Emporium.
Of course a trip to Melbourne wouldn’t be complete without hitting up H & M and Zara in Bourke Street Mall and yummy chocolate store Haighs just around the corner!
Other fun family activities on the to do list in Melbourne:
- Fitzroy Gardens including Captain Cooks Cottage
- Melbourne Aquarium
- Tram trip to St Kilda
- Chadstone Shopping Centre (there’s a free shuttle bus from Fed Square!)
- Immigration Museum
- ACMI at Federation Square
- Melbourne Zoo
There are so many more amazing places to discover in Melbourne, a great blog to check out for what’s on with kids is Little Melbourne.
Happy Melbourne loving lovelies!
