Confidence. It’s something that still often eludes me. I’ll be turning thirty five later this year (eeeeeek!) and some days I still don’t feel very confident at all.
I’ve often wondered what makes some people more confident than others. I remember asking a super confident and self assured friend what made her that way and she simply shrugged her shoulders and said ‘I was just born like it’.
Well bravo to those super confident, fierce, sassy sisters! Maybe if we hang out with you, a little of your confidence will rub off on us?
For the rest of us, we have to work on it as best we can.
For me, it’s pretty simple. When I look good, I feel good. These past few years it hasn’t always been easy to find the time to take care of myself with sleepless nights, two little ones and a hubby that’s often away, but I do my best.
A big happy smile despite how I’m feeling always goes a long way – and it’s free! A bright slick of lipstick, a strong coffee, something fun and colourful to wear, weekly Pilates, polished nails, time spent with my girls, friends and family and I’m on my way to feeling more confident.
Strong, shiny, healthy hair also makes a MASSIVE difference. During my first pregnancy my hair broke, fell out, was dry and unmanageable. It really dealt my confidence a big blow. Since then I’ve been giving my hair loads more TLC and I’m amazed at how strong, shiny and healthy it is!
What’s more – my hair is finally growing! YAY!! My hair is the best it’s ever been, and it’s all thanks to regular visits to Maurice Meade as well as using really good quality products including Shu Uemura and Kerastase and a super serum called Initialiste.
Cranking up some Lady Gaga or Beyoncé and I am well on my way to feeling my most confident, happy self!
