I always have a couple of home projects on the go and my latest was organising my walk in pantry. It was getting very messy and seemed to be a spot where ‘stuff’ ended up when I didn’t know what to do with it.
This particular space faces our kitchen and had been driving me mad for ages so it was time to get busy.
I’d been searching for the ideal storage system, and had an ‘ah-ha’ moment when I spotted some gorgeous Ball Mason jars on Instagram (thanks Katie!).
Now I can see what I have in the pantry at a glance, rather than having to dig through a pile of half empty packets.
I also pulled out my beloved tea cups and tea pots that were hiding in the cupboard. They were given to me by friends and family, along with cookbooks and other special gifts that always make me smile whenever I look at them.
Ball Mason jars are available at Big W, but I could only find them in packs of 12 when I needed 6 of each size, so I ordered directly from the Ball Mason website. I was very nervous about having glass jars delivered, but they were so expertly packed they all arrived in perfect condition!
I ordered a 6 pack of pint sized (440ml) regular mouth jars and a 6 pack of quart sized (1 litre) regular mouth jars.
It feels so good to finally get ‘project pantry’ complete!
Next up: my wardrobe…..

Your pantry is making me insanely jealous (and slightly embarrassed) by the state of mine! I always start out with the best of intentions yet somehow things get chaotic SO QUICKLY. Maybe if I took the door off and everything was exposed to the world, I’d have a better chance of keeping it spick and span! At the moment I use plastic stackable containers and jars but they are a real mish mash. Thinking I need something more uniform… In regards to other projects; Project ‘Big Boy Room’ and Project ‘Nursery’ are both currently underway. IKEA awaits tomorrow 🙂

Oh don’t worry, the rest of my pantry isn’t so organised… this is just the bit that was driving me mad the most! Good luck for your home projects, I loved decorating my girls rooms more than any other home project!!! A x x x
Looks fantastic and love these jars. I have painted some to match dessert tables I have done.
Another trick is to cut the use by date off the packet and sticky tape it to the lid or back (so it won’t be seen) so you know when the item need to be replaced:)
Oh thanks Amber, great advice re: the use by date labels and I LOVE LOVE LOVE your idea to paint Ball Mason jars for a dessert table! A x x x
Congrats Amy it looks amazing and I bet your happy that at last you can put some of your most loved and prized gifts out on display. I can’t wait to see what you do with organising your wardrobe.
Thanks Tracey, yes I’m very happy to finally have some of my favourite treasured items on display. It seems such a waste to have them hidden away in a cupboard. A x x x
My pantry is in need of an organising makeover, but happy to say you inspired me and I jumped on to Big W online and ordered some Mason jars 😉 thanks Amy
Oh yay!!! That’s brilliant Kate, let me know how you go. A x x x
Love this idea for storage, I have a mismatched collection of jars housing my cooking staples and I love the look <3
Thanks so much for stopping by Lauren and taking the time to comment, I love the look of mismatched jars – I collect empty ones and use them for all different purposes 🙂 x x
I am so happy that you are displaying your beautiful china, it really made me smile. Your pantry is as pretty as a picture. I love it when I give mine a good sort out, despite always promising myself that it will never get messy again…it always does! Good luck keeping yours lovely.
Thanks Erin! This part of my pantry space is just for me, the rest is full of popcorn, vegemite and spices!! A x x x
Looks great Amy, well done. Why is it as soon as we get our pantry sorted we want to tackle the wardrobe next?
