So far this year has been crazy busy. My hubby started his new breakfast radio show which means the alarm goes off at 4.30am and from then our days are filled with noise, kids activities, housework, phone calls, emails, errands, groceries and all the usual fun stuff that comes with running a house and having kids.
In amongst all the craziness I like to try and maintain some small sense of calm in our home.
Something that’s made a really big difference is playing chill out tunes (thanks to my fab friend Sonia Styling for the tip!) or happy music during the day. I listen through Pandora (an amazing invention, get on it peeps!) and often leave it playing when I head out. My hubby has told me it’s like walking into Ku De Ta or a day spa when he arrives home. Happy days!
We have loads of fun creating different stations on Pandora; kids music, spanish guitar (I love the Vicky Cristina Barcelona soundtrack), Michael Bublé, Sia, Café Del Mar and loads more.
I also have candles dotted throughout our house. I burn one most mornings (always well out of reach of little hands) and my home fills with a beautiful fragrance. I love arriving home to to the delicious scent of my Glasshouse Tahaa Vanilla Caramel which is still one of my favourites although I also love trying different candles all the time.
And some weeks I LOVE LOVE LOVE having fresh flowers in our home. They make me so happy and look so beautiful. I reuse Glasshouse candle jars as vases and also reuse little glass jars, they are the perfect size for two or three flowers which look beautiful on the bedside table or in the bathroom.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference in creating a happy home.
Here’s to having a happy home lovelies!
