Chloe had her very first session at Gymbaroo yesterday and absolutely loved it! It was so great to touch base with her development and learn how to encourage her next milestones. I also really love the special quality time with my precious little bear, as I know all too well how quickly this bubba stage will pass and soon she will be on the move.
I first discovered Gymbaroo when Ava was just four months old (you can read more about it here) and it’s still the best activity we’ve done together.
Up until now I’ve been doing an online video series developed by Gymbaroo called Active Babies Smart Kids with Chloe Bear at home which has been fantastic. It’s free to Australian and New Zealand residents which is just amazing! It’s such a great resource for new mums and mums of little bubs, and is particularly good for parents who live in rural areas of Australia and can’t get to a Gymbaroo centre.
The video episodes cover the how and why of important developmental areas (from tummy time to baby’s balance along with visual development, baby massage, exercises, crawling and more) and include chats with early childhood specialists.
The Let’s do BabyROO section of each episode is designed so that parents can join in with their bubs and do the baby exercises, dances to music, baby massage, activities to help with visual development, hearing and speech, baby balance and so on.
I really love setting aside quality time each week to check in with Chloe’s development and have fun interacting and engaging with her without any distractions. They are only little for such a short period of time and I just want to soak up every second.
You can find out more about Gymbaroo here and find your nearest Gymbaroo centre here.

What activities do you love doing with your little ones?
Have you found any great online resources for kids?

Hi Amy – I’ve recently launched a charity “Tiny Sparks WA” which is helping support families who had babies born premature and sick as well as high risk pregnancies. Many of the babies have very low immune systems and are vulnerable to infection therefore can’t attend activities such as gymbaroo and swimming. Do you think these videos can be done in isolation of any other instruction?
If so, I’d love to share your blog on our fb page. Thanks 🙂
Oh this would be perfect for premmies, the videos are highly informative and you can do the exercises with your bubba along to the video without any other instruction. It much be such an isolating experience having a baby who is vulnerable to infection, sending lots of love to any parents out there who have little ones at home with low immune systems. Please feel free to share. A x x
Thanks Amy. Yes it is extremely isolating and you spend a fortune on hand sanitizer!!
Hi Bronwyn,
Well done starting your wonderful sounding charity.
Understanding that not everyone can get to a GymbaROO centre, yet wanting every parent to have access to the important information about baby development and a “join in” opportunity, is exactly the reason we have created this online series. Please do share this series with your community and those under your loving wing. We also invite any feedback you may like to send our way!
Enjoy!
Kind regards,
Bindy.
