Ava loves keeping busy and I do my best to have lots of different activities at hand. She enjoys colouring in, stickers, painting, puzzles, playing snap, singing and dancing, and more recently ‘going on holidays’ which involves packing all of her toys and treasures into bags.
She also loves play dough, and seeing as our last lot of store bought play dough had gone dry and crumbly, we decided to have some fun and make our own!
This recipe is for long lasting play dough and will last for several months if stored in an airtight container in the fridge. Many thanks to my amazing mum, Debbie (Grandma) for sharing this recipe with me. You’re the best!
Once cup cold water
One cup plain flour
Two teaspoons cream of tartar
Half a cup of salt
One tablespoon cooking oil
Place all ingredients into a saucepan and mix together. Place over a medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent sticking until the dough comes away from the sides of the pan (several minutes). Turn onto a board and allow to cool before kneading. If the dough feels sticky to touch, rub some cooking oil over your hands to make it easier to knead. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
