I’ve been searching for a couple of special pieces of wall art to complete our home and it’s taking me some time to decide which ones are my favourites. While looking through a gorgeous online art gallery, I discovered a Canadian artist Claire Desjardins whose work I am really drawn to. Some people would say she’s been inspired by Kandinsky. I love her use of colours and find her pieces really uplifting and interesting.
Of course, I have to consider the colour palette that we already have in our home, that means that a lot of pieces won’t work in the spaces I need them for. So I’ve spent lots of time coming back to certain pieces and creating a mood board with my shortlist. I’ve loved creating my own virtual art gallery and have discovered that I am almost always drawn to colourful abstract pieces along with some stunning art deco art.
The whole process has made me really curious about how other people choose artwork for their homes.
Do you find beautiful pieces of art work first and then decorate from there?
Add pieces along the way? Or is it the final piece of the home decorating puzzle?
I’d really love to hear how other people have approached their art work choices.
Happy art gazing lovelies!
