Today my fabulous friend Sonia is a special guest editor sharing a few of her favourite things for Spring. Wishing Sonia a very happy belated birthday for yesterday!
After what feels like the world’s longest winter (well it feels like that here in Adelaide, at least) I am incredibly glad to be seeing the sun shining and feeling the warm weather slowly taking over.
Being a September baby, I’ve always loved spring and this season in particular is especially exciting for me. I feel like there’s so much on the horizon – a trip to Brisbane to visit a very dear friend of mine for some much needed girl time, a new furry addition to our family in the form of a Sheltie puppy, an opportunity to dance my heart out at the Rudimental concert and of course, my birthday!
There’s just something so magical about spring. It’s almost like a rebirth of sorts, with trees coming back to life, flowers starting to bloom and – maybe most importantly – an explosion of colour in stores everywhere!
From homewares to fashion, there’s nothing quite like adding a splash of colour to your home or to yourself. It brings an element of happiness and fun. A breath of fresh fashion air!
My personal style is classic with a twist, so I tend to keep most of my outfit very neutral and add a dash of colour with one bright piece such as a necklace or scarf. The same can pretty much be said of our home too, as it is mostly neutral with colourful pieces such as cushions and decorative items.
So when Amy asked me to write about my edit of the spring trends, my mind quickly turned to a fabulous trio – black, white and citrus (neutral with a pop of colour!). Monochrome is a strong trend for spring, as are bright colours. This particular colour combo is fresh, sophisticated and stylish with a hint of fun.
So with all that in mind, here is my Spring Edit: Black, White and Citrus for you and your home…
