I was recently talking with a lady who is expecting her first child and she was telling me how overwhelmed she felt by baby stores and the amount of choice there is when it comes to buying baby products. It reminded me that I felt exactly the same when I was pregnant with Ava. It can be a big learning curve and you quickly discover that there are lots of things you really don’t need, while other items prove invaluable. Here are a few of my favourite pregnancy and ‘getting ready for baby’ things.
These jeans are SO comfy and have a very clever built in tummy band which both supports a growing belly and keeps it warm! I’ve worn these so much already, and at this stage in my pregnancy are my comfiest clothing choice. If you only make one maternity wear purchase, these should be it!
Like lots of pregnant Mumma’s, I’ve had lower back and leg pain during this pregnancy (amongst other things!) and this pillow has been a godsend for getting comfortable at night and will also be perfect for feeding once the baby arrives. Ava and I also love snuggling up in it for our movie nights together! Ultimate Sleep are offering all Absolute Amy readers 10% off their entire pillow range! Simply type in ‘bubhub’ at the checkout.
I didn’t have a capsule with Ava as so many people told me I’d only use it for a short period of time, but this time around friends who have recently had babies told me to do myself a favour and hire a capsule, and that’s exactly what I’m doing! It will make so much life easier with a toddler in tow as I can transfer the baby in and out of the car and even onto a pram – without having to disturb the baby if he/she is asleep. Perth Baby Hire have a huge range of baby items available, are really fussy about cleanliness and the owner Tanya is super helpful with any questions you might have. They also provide complimentary installation of all hired capsules and car seats by a trained restraint fitter. One less thing to worry about, happy days!
Baby Setup is a very clever concept where you can order all of your and your babies essential items in one go – including nappies, wipes, nappy cream, hand sanitizer, bottles, sheets, singlets, wraps, a thermometer and toiletries. All items included are super practical and ones which you will use. There are even organic and ‘Second Time Mum’ options. Baby Setup packs would make very thoughtful and useful gifts for baby showers and maternity leave PLUS they ship Australia wide! Too easy.
Happy baby shopping lovelies!!
