Every now and then I have a morning when I don’t have to madly rush off somewhere, and I get a chance to just reflect and be. This happened over the weekend and I was lucky enough to watch the sunrise. It was such a beautiful way to start the day and it made me feel so grateful for so many things.
Perth This Morning 10/4/2013
What a stunning city we live in! I’ve lived overseas twice, but there’s no where I’d rather be raising a family than in our beautiful city and country. We are so lucky to have access to clean parks, beaches, healthcare and wonderful activities for our children. Everything is so easy here, the air is clean and fresh and you only have to visit Kings Park, or one of our beautiful beaches to realise how lucky we are.
Sleep is one of those things that you don’t really appreciate until you’re not getting very much. We all know that having a new baby equals sleepless nights, but I didn’t expect to still be struggling with sleep two years down the track! We finally all had a wonderful sleep last night, what a difference it makes to wake up and see 6am rather than 3am.
I’m so grateful for my beautiful, growing family. My husband is truly one of a kind – supportive, funny, loving and caring and I’ve never felt so content and happy in my life than being a wife and mum. Yes, it’s definitely hard work at times, particularly keeping up with a busy toddler on minimal sleep while being pregnant – but I wouldn’t change a thing!
The Little Things
It’s so easy for us all to race through life, thinking about what we need to get done for the day and falling into bed feeling tired, worried or stressed about what we still have to get done tomorrow. Recently I’ve been trying to stop and really appreciate the little things. A lovely cup of tea. Yummy fresh fruit. A big hug from my little girl. Ava loving her new little kindy.
