Without a doubt my daughters room is my favourite in our whole house. It’s light and airy, fresh and pretty – but still very functional. I popped a photo of her room and new big girl bed up on Instagram a few weeks back and had so many comments, I thought I’d give you a little tour.
Ava’s white bed is called ‘Chloe’ and is from Bedshed, I love her name above the bed with the gorgeous swallows flying overhead. I found them online at Stix and Stones. The beautiful pink and white tulle pom poms are from Miss Bunting and are SO much better than tissue paper pom poms, which can be very fiddly and time consuming to assemble – plus they look much prettier. They would be perfect for decorations for birthdays and other special occasions. Ava’s pink and white ‘Je t’aime’ bed linen and cushions are from Vintage Baby and her dolls house and adorable cupcakes are from Early Learning Centre toys which has very sadly gone into administration. You can’t make purchases online anymore, but you can head into your local store and take advantage of 30-50% off everything in stock.
This Ikea Expedit bookshelf is genius for storing toys, books, puzzles and even clothes. We originally had it placed horizontally but then had to shift it vertically when we moved Ava’s big girls bed in. I found the white wicker baskets with pink gingham lining at Bed Bath N’ Table, they are a great way of storing anything and everything from nappies, wipes, tissues, hair bows, toys etc. They worked just as well when Ava was a baby as they do now – I can’t get enough of them! Bed Bath N’ Table doesn’t have an online store, but you can find your nearest store here.
This is Ava’s reading corner which used to be my feeding corner. This big white Ikea armchair is comfy and practical and and goes perfectly with the pink and white ‘Je t’aime’ bed linen. I found this beautiful ‘La Vie en Rose’ letterpress print from Sycamore Street Press, but they don’t seem to have them in stock anymore. You can find loads of other gorgeous prints on Etsy.
Ava’s room is also filled with lots of special, sentimental items including my Holly Hobby musical ornament from when I was little, matroyshka dolls I bought in Red Square in Moscow, a Royal Selangor musical jewellery box from a special Uncle, a Vera Wang jewellery box from a close friend, a Tiffany silver spoon she received when she was only a few days old (lucky girl!) and a birth certificate holder and silver rattle, amongst lots of other treasures from my childhood, including my ‘What Katie Did’ and ‘The Story Girl’ book series.
Of course, a little girls room wouldn’t be complete without a tutu or two! They are such an easy and effective way of making a little girls room pretty. The cute monkey hangers were a gift from Ava’s lovely Aunty, I can’t find them online – but let me know if you do as I’d love to get some more for our next baby.
I hope you’ve enjoyed our little tour. It won’t be long before I start decorating baby number twos room – so hit me with your best baby room decorating ideas!

Beautiful room!! My two have the monkey hangers as well, I bought them at Howard’s Storage World, but it was at least 18 months ago or maybe longer so I don’t know if they still have them. X
Oh thanks! Will have a look at HSW, the monkey hangers are so handy. A x x
Lovely room my dear! 🙂
I’m not sure about the monkey hooks but Anya has ones that are similar (pink elephants) which were also a gift! You can buy them here 🙂 xxx
Thanks lovely, will check out the elephant hooks – but I don’t think the link worked? x x

My favourite thing in Coco’s room is definitely her WALLPAPER!! I love it … I just have it on one wall but I had everything else in her room made to match it!! xx
Oh wow! I love wallpaper, so many stunning designs and colours to choose from. I bet Coco loves her room 🙂 x

Oh thanks Kelly 🙂 We’ve had most of the items since Ava was a baby, including the bed linen – it was originally for her cot and I’ve just moved it to her bed 🙂 A x x
Amy, thank you so much for sharing Ava’s room with us. It is just beautiful! If my 4yo b/g twins weren’t sharing a room, this is just how I’d like my daughter’s room to look. Poor little love has to share with her Lightning McQueen/Cars/Charlie Bear-loving brother! 🙂 Vxx
Thanks so much Vicki – I can’t imagine how busy life must be for you with 4yo b/g twins! I’m sure there’s never a dull moment 😉 x x x
I have seen the monkey door hangers at Spoilt which is in Subiaco Square. Hopefully they still have them in stock.
Oh thanks lovely, I’ll pop by there and see if they have any left 🙂 x x
A lovely space for a little lady! I especially love her sweet bed linen and darling swallows on the wall. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much Virginia, always tricky knowing whether to share something like this… so I’m glad you enjoyed it. A x
What a beautiful room, lucky little girl. I adore the colourful round pom pom rugs in a simple room to enlighten some colour. 😉
Thanks so much Fleur, the pom poms are gorgeous and and Ava loves them 🙂 x x
The room is gorgeous! I’ve recently brought the Chloe bed as well as moving my 16month old into her big bed soon when our second baby is born in June!the vintage baby website is a great find! On another note I made the veggie, slice and lemon slice today from your recipe section and both are a hit!!

Hi Amy, Thank you so much for including our store in your post. Ava’s name and fabric swallows have come up beautifully. Hope we can help you again in the future when you need more retail therapy! Have a great week. Tracey from Stix & Stones Baby
So gorgeous. I love my son’s room, and it’s also full of some beautiful personal items, but I do feel a little envious when I see this pretty girly room 🙂
