Rayne Embley is wife to West Coast Eagles player Andrew Embley. She is also a business woman, presenter and mother of two, Autumn and Lux. I caught up with her to find out how she juggles life as a busy AFL wife and mother.

Tell us a bit about life as an AFL wife and busy mum of two:
It’s full on! I guess it’s like anyone’s life, we don’t really know any different. Trying to juggle children, your husband’s career and business interests, it’s always about finding balance. It’s been extra crazy lately with Andrew injured, 11 month old Lux deciding to walk and a very strong willed (or bossy) 2 1/2 year old Autumn who likes things done her way. It’s so fascinating to watch them come into their own, but I am just finally getting used to lifes ‘new normal’.
We are also part owners in a restaurant Beluga, where I work behind the scenes. We are also working on a very exciting new business venture. I promise to keep you posted!

You looked so amazing after the birth of your children. How did you get back into shape and how do you stay so fit and fabulous?
Oh, thanks Amy. You are very kind. Honestly, for the first 10 months the old cliché of breastfeeding and running around after a toddler really worked for me. Both my kids loathe sitting in a pram so I have had to get creative around the house. We listen to a lot of music and dance, it’s also a great way to get Autumn to pack up her toys. I will say I have just discovered Xtend Barre at Pure Moves in Cottesloe. When I have an hour to exercise I want a good hard workout that gets your heart pumping and tones and tightens at the same time. I don’t want to have spent an hour feeling like I haven’t done anything. I’m the sort of girl that like to get red faced and little bit sweaty and it gives me just that. It’s amazing! I must admit, I’m starting to get slightly addicted.

You attend lots of glamorous events with your hubby. Where do you get your style inspiration and who are your favourite designers?
I do enjoy getting dressed up! Poppy Lissiman was gorgeous enough to design me a fabulous gown for last years Brownlow. I also fall in love with everything in her store everytime I go in there. I must admit, I’m not a very good shopper. My kind of shopping is looking around on the net for pieces I love or standing in a change room and having someone throw clothes at me to try on. My girlfriend Sara Smith is a stylist and personal shopper and she has done this for me on many occasions. I am absolutely in love with Manning Cartell. I wear a lot of Nicholas and I also love Alice McCall, Peridot and Anna & Boy.

How do you like to enjoy some time out?
Like that half hour we get before we go to bed? Ha! I try and find time to get my eyebrows groomed, my waxing done and generally just get things done that make me feel good. Andrew and I love eating out so we make a special effort once a week to get a babysitter and try some of Perth’s fabulous restaurants. A great glass of red is always on the top of my list of relaxing things to do. Yum!
Autumn is quite the fashionista – just like her gorgeous mum!
Thanks so much to the lovely Rayne for taking time out to have a chat with me.
