The much anticipated TV show ‘The Voice’ launched here in Australia last night, and some of the talent was truly amazing. Whenever I watch shows like this, I can’t help but think of my beautiful cousin Emma Sophina. She has been singing since we were little and has the most incredible voice. She also has an incredible story. Emma was one of the survivors of the ‘Miracle on the Hudson’ back in 2009. I still remember seeing the crash on the news and feeling sick, because I knew she was bound for North Carolina but wasn’t sure if she was on that flight.
And then we got confirmation, that yes – she was in fact on that plane, but she was alive and apart from being in shock, she was OK.
As a family, we will be forever thankful to Captain Sully for saving Emma’s life that day, along with so many others. He was a true miracle worker.
Emma went on to write and record a song for Captain Sully and she sang it for him live on The Larry King show. I thought it was such a beautiful thing for her to do and I was so proud of her.
Emma is currently living in the US and busy in the recording studio, I can’t wait to hear what she has in store for us!
