Yesterday I headed out to Foodbank WA to help pack hampers for ‘Give A Feed‘, an incredible initiative creating 2500 hampers for West Aussies who are doing it tough.
Each hamper includes over $70 of groceries, enough to feed a family of four – to be delivered to West Australian families so they won’t go hungry this Christmas.
It’s hard to believe that an estimated 75,000 West Aussies will go without food this Christmas.
Not just people on the streets, but people on low incomes, the elderly and people who have been made redundant, are out of work and families – including children.
For many of us who have more than enough – this is our chance to give back.
It’s easy enough to read about people who are doing in tough in our own city and state, and think ‘Oh that’s sad’ – but to make a difference, we really need to do something.
You can ‘Give A Feed’ this Christmas by purchasing a hamper for just $25.
If you are one of the lucky ones who has more than enough, this is your chance to make a difference so all West Australians can have a happy Christmas with food on the table.
Wishing everyone a safe, health and happy Christmas!
