Over the last few years when our girls have woken up feeling unwell with sore tummies, coughs, croup, sore throats and fever (because it’s always during the night or very early morning when they are sick!) – it’s been a stressful waiting game until the medical centre opens and I can call to make an appointment, or see if there are even any appointments available that day.
Two weeks ago Ava woke up with awful tummy pains. I could tell it wasn’t the usual sore tummy, she was very distressed and running a fever.
It was around 6am, and she just wanted me to cuddle her.
I remembered a super handy, time saving app called HealthEngine and jumped on to see if there were any appointments available at our nearest GP.
Luckily there was a morning appointment available and I booked it straight away, telling Ava that we would be able to see a Doctor very soon, who would help her feel better.
It took only minutes to find and book the appointment, saving me from doing the usual ring around and playing the waiting game with a sick child. I could get on with planning our morning and managing Ava’s pain and giving her lots of cuddles until our appointment.
I wish I had access to HealthEngine when Ava was a baby and when Chloe was younger and would wake in the early hours with terrible croup.
Not only can you book a GP appointment with HealthEngine, you can book in to see a dentist, physio, chiro, podiatrist, optometrist, counselor and more!
If you need to make an appointment after hours or you’re just short on time, HealthEngine makes life SO much easier for busy parents everywhere.
It’s totally free – so download the HealthEngine app today for the next time someone in your family needs to see a medical professional.
