I was thrilled to be invited to the cocktail reception for the very first landing of the double decker Emirates A380 into Perth on Friday night with guests including Aviation Expert Geoffrey Thomas and Minister for Health and Tourism The Hon. Kim Hames MLA (pictured below).
As a 24 year old, I flew out of Perth on board an Airbus to live in Dubai and work as Cabin Crew for Emirates, not knowing a single person there and not knowing what the future would hold.
I worked for Emirates for almost four years, and it was the most exciting and fun time of my life travelling to destinations like Moscow, Rome, London, Singapore, Melbourne and everywhere in between.
Boarding an aircraft now I still have to resist the urge to secure the cabin and close the overhead lockers!
Fast forward eleven years; a proud wife and mum of two girls, it was so very special to watch the very first A380 land into my home town of Perth to cheers and applause.
Guests were taken on a tour of the aircraft and I even managed to make a small cameo in the official Emirates video for the event which you can take a peek at here. (Look out for me at the 1.20 mark!)
There are so many things to love about the Emirates A380.
The aircraft is brand spanking new with more room in Economy, over 2000 channels on the In Flight Entertainment system and free Wi Fi throughout the entire aircraft.
Flat bed seats in Business, private suites and shower spas in First Class and an onboard lounge for Business and First Class travellers; the A380 is something dreams are made of!
I can’t wait to take my first flight somewhere exciting!
Dubai or Greek Islands perhaps?
