Life with a newborn is a beautiful, sleep deprived blur of feeding, changing, burping (repeat every 3 hours!) and it helps to know what’s going to make life just that bit easier and even a bit more fun. These are the baby products that are on my hit list.
This baby bag is the bomb! My girlfriends got this ‘Shocking Pink’ Marc Jacobs bag for me and I LOVE it! The colour is fabulous and fun and perfect for Spring / Summer and the bag itself fits everything I need for a newborn and a toddler… with a few pockets leftover for Mumma’s things. I really like that it has a front and back pocket where I can put my wallet / keys / phone for easy access and it also has side slip pockets for bottles and water bottles. You can’t get this colour anymore, but you can still get it in black, blue, teal and multi coloured.
I love these super cute Grandma and Me cloths as they’re the perfect size and weight for popping over your shoulder to burp your baby. The fun prints means that the burp cloth is easy to find in a baby bag full of wraps and blankets and because one side is towelling, it’s more absorbent than a muslin wrap. Burping a baby has never been so cute!
Chloe loves to be swaddled however she is a very wriggly worm and manages to work her way out of her wraps. The solution is to use one of these Bubbaroo swaddling or sleep bags, she sleeps so much better as she can’t wake herself up with the startle reflex. Bubbaroo is an Aussie owned company which means that everything meets Australian safety standards. This Bubbaroo newborn pack would make a perfect gift for a baby shower or a new bubba.
(Super cute baby not included!)
We didn’t have a capsule for Ava and I’m kicking myself that we didn’t. So many people told us that we’d only use it for such a short period of time, and while this is very true – the solution is to hire one. It makes life SO much easier with a newborn. If we’re heading out – once Chloe is dressed and ready, I pop her in the capsule and from there it clips into the car, and then onto our pram – so we can go out for a few hours without even having to disturb her if she’s happy sleeping. If you’re having a baby soon and wondering whether to get a capsule – JUST DO IT! If you’re a bit OCD with things being clean and sanitised for your bubba like I am, you can rest assured that Perth Baby Hire is also very particular about ensuring all their products are clean. Our capsule was brand new and for $155 for a 6 month hire, it’s great value for money. If you already have a pram and aren’t sure if the capsule is compatible, you can contact Perth Baby Hire and they can advise you if it is or if you need to buy or hire an adaptor.
I use this handy pencil case to keep everything I need to change Chloe; nappies, wipes, disposable change mats, nappy bags and hand sanitizer. This makes it very easy when its time to change her as everything I need is in one place, and I don’t need to take the whole baby bag into the change room. This is particularly useful when travelling as those aircraft change room / toilets are teeny tiny!
Onesies are the easiest and most comfy outfits for newborns, but some can be very tricky to get on and off your bubba with fiddly buttons and studs running up the back – very frustrating when changing your baby at 2am! I quickly remembered why these Marquise stud suits are my favourites. The fabric is super soft and washes up beautifully and they are also the easiest to get on and off your bubba. The Marquise singlets are also my favourites too.
Happy baby shopping lovelies!!
