After a very funny and crazy 24 hour trip (which I might write about in another post), we finally arrived at the Eden Roc Resort in Rhodes, deliriously tired but oh so happy to be back in a place that we love.
The view from our suite – not bad at all!
The island holds a special place in our hearts as we have close family who live here, and it’s also where we kicked off our wedding extravaganza three years ago.
Rhodes is a truly amazing place, it has one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe and also has incredible bars, restaurants and shops, including Zara, Starbucks, Sephora (insert happy clap here!) and a heap of beautiful boutiques. This means that I can combine all of my favourite things in one holiday – eating, sightseeing, swimming, sunning, relaxing, shopping and drinking cocktails. Happy days!

Mummy and Little Miss enjoying a spot of chess
At this point I should probably mention how much I LOVE Greek food (lucky me being married to a Greek then huh?). One of my favourite places is right on a beautiful little beach called Tasos where we had the yummiest green beans smothered in garlic and lemon, chicken souvlaki, greek salad and one of the most delicious dishes I have ever tasted – baked feta. It’s topped with tomatoes, green capsicum, chilli and garlic and is served hot straight out of the oven. Smeared onto fresh bread it is truly divine. Mmmmm-mmmmm!
Baked feta – divine deliciousness
Fun in the sun at Tasos Beach
After lunch we headed for a swim to cool off. I really love how they have sun loungers and umbrellas for hire right on the beach in Europe, it means that you can enjoy your time in the sun sitting in the shade with occasional dips in the water – a perfect way to spend an afternoon.
A romantic dinner with my wonderful hubby (clearly we packed our Zoolander poses)
After yet another wonderful stay at the Eden Roc Resort, we started packing for our next destination – Kastellorizo. The island where we got married and where our daughter was christened.
